Going up the Stuart Highway to Darwin

We left Ayers Rock on June 12, 2013 and headed to Alice Springs (population 27,480).

A view of Alice from the top of Anzac Memorial Hill

Some art work on the building in Alice Springs at the Aboriginal Art Center.

The ant hills are of all sizes and shapes.  Some even have clothes on them.

National Road Transport Hall of Fame in Alice Springs had a huge collection of big rigs.

The Tropic of Capricorn

We stopped for lunch at a roadhouse and there was just something wrong with this picture!

Devil's Marbles

Australia's UFO tribute, very similar to Rachel, Nevada in Wycliffe Well

The Daly Waters Pub is a popular stopping spot. The pub is decorated with business cards, pubs, bras, banknotes and other memorabilia from passing travelers. It claims to have the oldest liquor license in the Norhtern Territory

F-111 headed to Darwin with a stop in Daly Waters.  This created quit a stir in the little community.

Angle Parking in Daly Waters, any angle you want.

Larrimah, getting their piece of the tourist dollar.  This roadhouse had a little zoo with many different birds, a fresh water croc and a salt water croc, lizards, emus, wallabee and the pink panther!

By golly, Kath's bike does do dirt.  Took a short ride to check out a WWII landing strip.
