Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia

From the desert to the tropics!  It was very warm in Darwin, sun shining.  We stayed in a backpacker's hostel.  We found out that we are not the young hippies we used to be.  It was a clean, basic room  (that means just a bed,  no TV and a shared bath) and it was air conditioned for $80!  Prices at the end of the road are always more.

At the shore of the Timor Sea

Toes briefly in the water, do not want to lure any salt water crocodiles!

But, our Crocodile Dundee did.  We took the 1 hour jumping crocodile tour on the Adelaide River.

We went to the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory which had a great display about Cyclone Tracy that totally devastated Darwin on Christmas Eve 1974.  Visited a couple art galleries looking for Aboriginal baskets and then off to Batchelor.
